Osher Lifelong Learning Institute

I had the pleasure this week of presenting the first chapter of my book to students at Northwestern University’s school of lifelong learners (OLLI). The students read my work and met to offer their interpretations and criticism. They spoke for an hour while I took notes, and I answered their questions for about twenty minutes. I was pleased to discover what they’d noticed, and I was happy that their understanding of plot and characters matched my intentions. The OLLI students are retired professionals. One had been an attorney. Another had been a psychologist. I was impressed by the attention they paid toward my text. Thanks to Christine Sneed for setting this up!
